- Has invested in 8 fully equipped and DSA QAG accredited Assistive Technology Centres across England, and an Outreach Centre in Exeter.
- The Belfast Centre offers independant quality assessments to students who are eligible for the DSA. Currently no independant quality assurance body is in place in Northern Ireland.
About Our Directors….
Emma Shelton (Director) MA (Educational Psychology) founded and managed the disability service and assessment centre at Exeter University from 2000 to September 2005. She has 15 years experience as a teacher, lecturer and senior manager in disability and learning support. She is an experienced assessor with an expertise in assessing deaf students.
- Emma was awarded the inaugural Times Higher Education prize for outstanding support for disabled students in HE for 2005.
- Emma is a member of the DSA QAG * subgroup , driving through development in national policy
- Emma has advised the Student Loans company re Disabled Students Allowance
Una Lynch (Director) RSA Dip SpLD (AMBDA status) with Patoss Practicing Certificate which enables her to produce diagnostic dyslexia reports. She has over 13 years experience as teacher and lecturer and coordinated the Literacy and Numeracy Support team at Somerset College for 10 years.
- Una is an experienced assessor with expertise in Dyslexia and is Chair of Somerset PATOSS
- Una has been involved in the Writing Pad initiative, (Writing Purposefully in Art and Design)
- Una has published articles relating to assistive software and dyslexia for BECTA.
