Remote Assessments

Contact Associates Ltd was a partner in the winning tender that delivered for Becta’s Home Access Assistive Technology programme.

The project ran from August to December 2010, CA designed and delivered a methodology that enabled 10 thousand severely disabled and disadvantaged children to be assessed remotely.

A team of highly-experienced disability specialists recommended individually tailored Assistive Technology computer equipment and software packages to help learners and their families get online for learning. The programme was aimed at families that currently lack computer and internet access at home. By using a clear set of questions with the parents / carers and or guardians the specialist assessors were able to recommend assistive software and hardware to enable disabled children to use their computers at home.

This successful project has left CA with the legacy of an enviable database of specialist disability assessors across the UK and a unique workflow system.   It now has a track record of delivering a national contract across England with a clear quality assurance mandate
