Want to apply for DSAs for Dyslexia but worried because you only have a ‘pre-16’ Dyslexia Diagnostic Report?

04 May 2020

Did you know that from February 2019, the Department for Education (DfE) confirmed a diagnostic assessment that meets SASC guidelines, produced by a specialist teacher assessor with a current APC or suitably qualified psychologist (at the time of assessment), is acceptable as evidence for Disabled Students Allowances (DSAs). This is the case regardless of the age of the learner at the time of the assessment; you do not need to have another post-16 diagnostic assessment to apply for DSAs.
